However, Alphonsina shortened my wool dress shirt's sleeves and hemmed my wool slacks so deftly that you'd never guess in a million years that they had undergone alterations. Her prices were extremely reasonable, she was consummately professional, and she was able to complete the work much more quickly than I anticipated! She is honest when she doesn't think something needs to be tailored, so she saves me money. She makes herself available for last minute projects to make sure that, for my major events, I look and feel my best. Look at the photo below. The difference between what the dress look like when I first put it on and what it look like after she altered it is astonishing. I just thought that it needed to be taken in at the waist, but she saw more little subtle things she could do to make it fit like a glove. She does amazing work, all while being kind and friendly. I had a chiffon gown that needed alteration and I felt like I couldn’t find an alteration shop or seamstress recommendation from any reviews online until I found Alphonsina. Her web presence was so polished and had excellent reviews, honestly I wasn’t sure what the price would be. As she assessed the alterations needed, I came to learn that she is reasonably priced and fair. The space she has setup is very chic and comfortable with changing space. She asked questions to understand when I needed the alteration completed and had it done in time. She even shared how she could alter the ling gown to a shorter version in order or reuse and continue wear. I don’t usually leave extensive reviews but this one was warranted and hopefully helpful for someone who felt like they’d never find a highly skilled, fairly priced, and trustworthy place to alter clothes. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I was extremely stressed as the wedding I am in is in 2 weeks!! I found Alphonsina by searching for a seamstress in my area. She was very responsive and was able to get me in the next day for a fitting. The next day came and I was not able to get off of work in time and had let Alphonsina know that I unfortunately needed to cancel my appointment. She replied with an alternate time later that day and I was able to make it, and was SO appreciative of her flexibility! Her lovely studio is located at her beautiful home which made me feel really comfortable- I have been to alteration shops in the past and always felt intimidated and uncomfortable having to be pinned up in the middle of a shop. Alphonsina was SO sweet and welcoming! Not to mention fast-she was able to pin the dress to fit me in less than 10 minutes!! She then let me know that she would need about a week to complete the alterations which I thought was an incredible turn around time. A couple days later I received an email stating my dress was already done and that I was able to pick it up the following day! The dress looked incredible and the fit was perfect. I could not believe how quickly she was able to complete such a project! Needless to say, not only am I incredibly happy with the outcome of the alterations done by Alphonsina but, with her amazing customer service! So glad I found her and will definitely be returning for any future alterations!! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

She has altered so many different items for me: dresses, pants, shirts, rompers, formal gowns and my wedding dress. She delivers the best quality of work and is the the only one I trusted with my wedding dress. She did a fabulous job helping me fit in my wedding dress, it was a week before the wedding and she was loosening the seam to give me a few extra inches and to be able to fit in my dress. My dress had a lot of detail and she was able to alter it without compromising the design. This takes talent! She always has my items ready on time. I decided to buy the suit and then see if I could find a tailor that was reasonable and good. As usual, I went on Yelp first to figure this out. Then I asked around to see if any friends had gone to this place. Yep, all the reviews I got in person matched the ones on here. So, I gave it a shot. I brought my pants in on a Tuesday, hoping I could have them back in at least a week. Alphonsina was very pleasant and professional. She had other people there when I walked in, but she was able to take care of them while making me feel welcome. We did the fitting in a very short amount of time. She has a great eye for detail and noticed a couple of things that needed to be fixed on the pants. Not only that, she promised the pants by Saturday! When I got the text from her that they were ready on Friday, I was really surprised. I stopped in and tried on my pants. Excellent fit. Everything was perfect. And the price was good! My next project will be to find some fabric and have her make me a suit from scratch. I saw some of her original work while I was there. Really impressive. Thanks Alphonsina! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

She said I looked beautiful and that once I put a strapless bra on it would fill out perfectly. She was totally right, the dress fit me perfectly and I saved $95 Just the fact that she didn't try to convince me to alter a dress (that didn't need alterations) spoke volumes about her integrity and professionalism. Her rates are reasonable ($15 for an alteration or repair) and she does a great job! She sends a text message when the item is done, and is very efficient. I love being able to get clothes fixed or altered and continue to use them, even if the repair costs more than the item initially did.
